In Ukraine instead of 490 districts will be 136.
The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Friday, July 17, 238 votes supported the resolution of Cabinet of Ministers on administrative reform, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
According to her, the number of districts in Ukraine reduced to a third from 490 to 138.
“Elections of deputies of district councils of the districts, abolished in accordance with this resolution, are not held”, — stated in the document.
Liquidation and the formation of areas in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions will be held on return of these territories under the General jurisdiction of Ukraine.
According to preliminary estimates, the decrease in the number of district councils will reduce the expenditures of local (district) budgets: in 2021 — to 1.4 billion, in 2022 — 1.4 billion UAH, and in 2023 — at 1.5 billion.
