During the session on Thursday, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed the appointment of the head of Board “Ukrgasbank” Kirill Shevchenko for the post of head of the National Bank of Ukraine, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Country.

The decision was supported by 332 MPs.

Note that on the morning of the appointment Shevchenko was supported by profile Committee of the Parliament. It was opposed by only one member of the Committee, five abstained, and the rest of the votes were for. And speaking at Committee Kirill Shevchenko has promised not to turn on the printing machine to prevent uncontrolled inflation and will preserve the independence of the NBU.

We will remind that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the appointment of the Chairman of Board “Ukrgasbank” Kirill Shevchenko for the post of head of the National Bank of Ukraine a day earlier, on July 15.
