Zelensky commented on the accident near Kiev, which killed four people

The accident was discussed during the meeting.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov at a meeting in the President’s Office on Monday, July 13, spoke about the accident in Kiev, which killed four people, reports Correspondent.

He recalled that before Parliament is a bill which increases the responsibility of drivers for committing a fatal road accident in an alcohol intoxication.

“In particular, the bill increases the penalties for driving while intoxicated, introduces penalties for leaving the scene of an accident and also reduces the field for manipulation to avoid responsibility. The adoption of this bill will also help to prevent the Commission of offences in the sphere of road safety, more restrained and balanced driving behaviour on the roads and, consequently, will reduce the number of accidents,” — said the interior Ministry.

The urgency of the adoption of this bill caused a number of violations and serious accidents caused by drivers in an alcohol intoxication, and can easily avoid their responsibility.

“An accident on the Metropolitan highway near Kiev — the latest terrible example of negligence and irresponsibility of some drivers. Killed two adults and two children. For the life of another boy fighting our doctors. And this is not the first accident caused by this driver” — said President Vladimir Zelensky.
