The foreign Ministry commented on the detention of Ukrainians in Greece


Ukrainians complain of poor conditions and inadequate sanitation.

Greece missed the group of 17 Ukrainian citizens in connection with the applicable restrictions due to pandemic coronavirus COVID-19. This was stated by the Director of the Department of consular service of the foreign Ministry Sergei Pogoreltsev, reports the with reference to the Correspondent.

“Our citizens are not detained. They are not allowed to enter the country in connection with the applicable restrictions. The Consul bought water, hygiene and drove the citizens. The Greek authorities received permission to visit”, – said victims of the fire.

According to him, the Ukrainian Embassy in Greece at the beginning to deal with the Ukrainians, after it became known about the incident. Tomorrow at the foreign Ministry promised to provide a detailed comment about it.

“Now I can advise all our citizens who intend to travel in this difficult, from the point of view of the epidemiological situation, the period to plan their journey only after receiving from official sources of relevant information on the possibility/entry into a particular foreign country”, – concluded the fire Victims.

One of the detained passengers Anna Walewska confirmed in Facebook that allowed him Consul.


“The Ukrainian Consul has just personally visited us. Thanks to him, we now have soap, one bottle of antiseptic, water, toilet paper and mattresses”, – she wrote on the social network.


She added that the company Wizzair gave to his five passengers sandwiches and water. Ryanair has not yet responded.
