Ambassadors of the group of seven, commented on the resignation of the head of the NBU
The undermining of the national Bank, as a key institution, would put at risk the support of reforms in Ukraine.
The ambassadors of the G7 countries stated that an independent national Bank is a fundamental achievement for Ukraine, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
The corresponding statement was published on Twitter July 1, a few hours after information about the resignation of the head of the NBU Yakov Smoliy.
“Independent Bank is a fundamental achievement for Ukraine, which reduced corruption, contributed to the growth and saved the bankrupt banking sector. Undermining this important institution would be a big step backwards and would put at risk the reliability of reforms in Ukraine and their support,” said the ambassadors of the Big seven.
An independent National Bank is a foundational achievement for Ukraine that has reduced corruption, driven growth & rescued a failed banking sector. To undermine this crucial institution would be a big step back and jeopardize the credibility of and support for Ukraine‘s reforms.
