The interior Ministry is considering a system of fines, as in Finland or Switzerland.
The Deputy Minister of internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko said that the interior Ministry has prepared a bill which provides for a much greater amount of fines for speeding. In particular, 3 400 hryvnias for those who have exceeded more than 50 km/h, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Country.
According to him, now if the person has exceeded up to 50 km/h for ten days, the violator must pay 127,5 hryvnia, if more than 50 km/h — 510 hryvnia.
Gerashchenko added that in Ukraine it is necessary to introduce such a system, as in Finland or Switzerland, where the amount of the fine is calculated as a percentage of income. “We need to raise the upper threshold of the penalty,” he said.
In addition, he said that since July 1, the country runs and other functions of the system will begin to monitor the intersection at a red light and a drive down the lane for public transport.
