Floods in Western Ukraine: forecasters said, when the situation improves

Meteorologist expect the stabilization of the situation with the floods

The situation with the floods in the Western regions of Ukraine should stabilize before the end of the week.


This was stated by forecasters during a meeting of the state Commission under the chairmanship of the head of the government Denis Smagala, the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“According to forecasts Ukrgidromettsentra, the flood situation in the Western region should stabilize before the end of this week. Now in all regions, precipitation is gradually stopped”, – stated in the message.

At the same time, meteorologists do not rule out that the significant increase in water level in the Western regions, in particular in the Dniester river.

In addition, the participants of the meeting listened to the reports on the current situation in the flood affected areas and assess the extent of the damage.


It is worth noting that the situation on the rivers of the Carpathians and Bukovina remains complex – there for a long period of rain caused a serious rise in water level, destruction of bridges, roads, homes and flooded farms.

As reported “Today”, earlier in Ivano-Frankivsk region, a tornado swept. Whirlwind blew over the fields and forest four kilometers from the village.
