The Pechersky regional court of Kiev on Thursday, June 18, decided to postpone consideration of the petition on the measure of restraint ex-to the President, MP Petro Poroshenko on July 1, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
Note that this morning the attorney General Irina Venediktova asked the court to defer consideration of the petition in connection with the death of his father Poroshenko.
“Please apply to Poroshenko a measure of restraint in the form of personal obligations,” was read by the Prosecutor.
The position of attorney General based on the fact that Poroshenko should not be in custody because has to attend a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada and does not intend to abscond.
Also, the court is asked to impose on the ex-President a number of obligations, in particular, to appear before investigator, Prosecutor and the court, not to leave the city, which is home to, and to refrain from communicating with a number of witnesses.
“They said they have enough of a personal commitment. No. Poroshenko did not take bribes, do not take and will not take. Moreover, they do this in order to withdraw the passport and not to allow Poroshenko to mobilize the world in support of Ukraine”, — said Poroshenko after the meeting.
Initially, prosecutors had planned to demand from the court to arrest the ex-President with the possibility of bail of 10 million hryvnias. But the meeting changed his request and is now asking you to select a milder preventive measure.
Recall, Poroshenko last week handed suspicion about the appointment of the Deputy head of the foreign intelligence service.
