Ukraine will seek NATO membership, says the Cabinet.

The Alliance expects Ukraine’s adoption of five laws, said Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Olga Stefanyshyna, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.

“It’s the law on parliamentary control of security and defence, the draft of which was registered in Parliament under No. 1204, changes in the law on SBU (No. 3196), the law on intelligence service (No. 2412-d), on defence procurement (№2398-d) and the law on state secrets, which is still in work,” she said.

She also assured that after receiving a new status of a NATO partner with enhanced capabilities that Ukraine will seek membership.

“Neither Ukraine nor NATO are considering EOP as a distraction from movement in the direction of the membership action plan and membership in the Alliance,” said Stefanyshyna.
