In Russia want to cancel criminal liability for reposts

The authors believe that reposts posts and news in social networks “minor degree of public danger,” and therefore cannot be considered a criminal offense. Instead, for such illegal actions, the deputies propose to punish by a fine from 10 to 20 thousand rubles, compulsory works for up to 100 hours, or administrative detention for 15 days.

MPs propose to change the 282-th article of the criminal code so that criminal liability for incitement of hatred or enmity comes to “if this act is committed with violence or with threat of its application”.The authors introduced the bill point out that punishing on the 282-th article more and more often: in 2012 the number of prisoners it was 130 people, and in 2017 already 461.
